The hotel was not as cute and quaint as advertised, lacking the nautical theme promised. However, the rooms were clean with crisp linens, conveniently close to dining and sightseeing spots. Staying in the room with windows closed was tranquil, but opening them made me feel part of the lively downtown scene with a refreshing ocean breeze.
Rooms
7.0
The rooms were clean and centrally located for easy access to activities, though lacking the promised theme.
Service
8.0
The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional. However, additional fees added up quickly, making the overall rate higher than expected.
Location
9.0
The location was unbeatable, close to shops and restaurants in downtown Sausalito. Requesting the Mansion and Bay view enhances the experience, but better lighting is needed.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast was not satisfying, and the dining experience fell short. Light snacks were available due to ongoing reconstruction.
Facilities
Under reconstruction with limited dining options, the facilities were not fully operational during my stay.

7.2/10
I had a mixed experience at Casa Madrona. While the hotel overlooks the harbor and offers a convenient location surrounded by shops and restaurants, the rooms lacked historic charm and cleanliness, with an unpleasant surprise of finding a large piece of poop on the side of the toilet. The service, though mostly attentive and friendly, had a dismissive attitude towards some requests. The dining options were standard, and the facilities were sufficient.
Rooms
6.0
The rooms looked out at three patio heaters, stored in front of our window, which detracted from the historic charm one would expect at Casa Madrona. The cleanliness was questionable, given the presence of a large piece of poop on the side of the toilet.
Service
7.0
The service was a mix of attentive and dismissive. While check-in and departure were handled with a smile, some requests were met with an air of inconvenience.
Location

The hotel's location was convenient, right across the street from the ferry and close to various attractions in Sausalito and San Francisco. However, they were strict on check-in and check-out times.
Dining
7.0
Dining options were available in the adjacent restaurant and conference rooms, with a standard arrangement. The salmon was a highlight.

Staying at the hotel was a mixed experience. While the rooms were clean, comfortable, and offered a beautiful water view, the noise from the electrical equipment on the roof was disturbing. The service was top-notch, with friendly and accommodating staff that truly made me feel at home away from home. The location was excellent for exploring Sausalito and its attractions, but there were some security concerns. The dining experience, especially at Trattoria Poggio, was fantastic, but having Spanish food available would be a nice addition.
